The proceeding from incineration technology to pyrolysis became the one of the waste thermal treatment trends. Pyrolysis technology brings the reduction of waste amount accumulated from the process, commercial grade products, negligible effect on environmental than incineration one. The only shortage is the limitation of waste range that possibly cost-effective for pyrolysis process.
All these issues of pyrolysis technology implemented in Thermal Decomposition Plants as a solution for the waste treatment were discussed at training workshop in February this year in St. Petersburg, Russia. The presentation of Thermal Decomposition Plant in operation was held at company’s production site to get acquainted the participants with the principles and technological features of pyrolysis equipment on the first day of the training workshop. The equipment is manufactured for the treatment of hydrocarbon materials: from waste loading to discharging of the final products. Drilling muds and oil slime were used as feedstock, the conditioning products such as liquid fuel oil and dry residue (biochar) were obtained from the process.
All the challenges and decisions raised at a training workshop on pyrolysis technology and equipment operation were published in an article of the magazine Ecology of Production on June 2015. We believe that might be interested for professionals of oil and gas industry.
